I wasn't eating more, i just gained that much weight. The weeks after that, when the citalopram was gradually leaving my system, were incredibly difficult. I have heard of people losing the excess weight after quitting a medication.

I could look at food and gain weight. The therapist suggested that if i want to have it under control i need to take medication for a while to stop it. I decided to stop taking citalopram as i had gained so much weight that i was unable to lose despite never having weight issues before going on it.
